In mid September we let Airside fling open its loving arms to host an evening of entertainment, design, music, t-shirts and schmoozing in AKA. There were raffle winners, vegetable fondling, Fred Deakin (Lemon Jelly) and Richard Hogg DJing, and a Harvest Festival King and Queen were crowned - chosen for their love of the people.
Fortunately the Airside crew left their artwork for us. The circular patterns you can now see gracing our walls were designed for Lemon Jelly’s recent ’64-’95 album in response to the band’s feeling about music being inextricably linked with roundness. CDs are round. LPs are round. The labels in the middle are round. And Lemon Jelly’s music is looped. Hence Airside’s representation of this concept with a series of circular patterns that were not only illustrated but also animated to melt from one to another.
The characters you'll see are from a family of characters which Airside created for a client that they made animated TV commercials for. For more info check out www.airside.co.uk
