People have been mixing drinks for centuries but it wasn't until the 17th and 18th centuries that the modern cocktail became popular. The first published definition of a Cocktail appeared in 1806, stating: "A cocktail is a stimulating liquor, composed of spirits of any kind, sugar, water and bitters."
At AKA we've created a cocktail list that offers a selection of the drinks we think have the most interesting history as well as tasting delicious, and we've sourced some of the finest spirits, liqueurs and freshest ingredients alongside some home made at AKA too. |
